Family Gift Bonanza... When Mini m & m's just don't stay in the tube!

Well Last Weekend I invited all my family here in North end of Utah to a family gift exchange. It has become a tradition for me as when I was in NYC and came out I had to do quite a bit of getting around to get all my presents delivered... And since I go to St. George now to be wiht my mom and dad to play santa it still works great.

There was a twist this year all of my nieces and their families and juanita took public transportation.. Saving gas and the environment!!!!

Well that is the story I am sticking to although they will say they spent the entire day getting to and from my house which is a car would only take 2 hours...

still I think the kids liked it and i know i didn't worry about the weather and all of them treading down here on slick roads.

I only made 2 trips to the train because Juanita and Leslie and her boys made the same trains, and a little later Leslie and the clan came rolling in too.

We had a good time eating some food, I especially liked watching gunner walk around with a tube of crackers eating them as he checked out everyone else.

Leslie made a apple crisp desert and it was Fantastic!!!

We all just hung out and enjoyed the food and the fun till Braxton said can we open our presents?? and well I couldn't say no.

I have a santa hat which let each kid use to hand out a gift to another it was pretty fun to see how each kid handled the santa roll. Gunner said Santa Claus HO HO HO. I normally try to get each kid a book and a toy and this year Cambria and Jax both got a watch.. they are getting pretty big and i know I loved my first watch.

I got a nerf target game for the christensens and for Jamie's family I got them Lego Rock Band hopefully they all enjoy their gifts.

Oh yea i gave each kid a Tube of m&m minis to eat and gunner was dumping his in his mouth and have a great time with them... I am sure puddi found a few left over on the ground since then :)

well it was fun, then we all piled back in my car, I mean all of us, trevon, braxton and Cambria got to ride where puddi does, paul, Gunner, Leslie, Jamie and Jax all squeezed in the back seat and juanita rode shot gun, we got to the train and all commented on how there should be a video of eveyone pileing out of the car.

I gave them all a hug and sent them back on their train rides to their homes!

Hope they all have a merry christmas!!!

Thanksgiving and other fun!

Well Thanksgiving has come and gone and yes I know I have not updated my blog in ages... so here goes...

Week of Thanksgiving:
Monday Uneventful I just worked and worked and then went home and played.. and then yes slept

Tuesday! Juanita my sister came down on a TRAIN!!! yes i am very proud of her for getting up and getting on a train and having the start of an adventure!
my brother Charles and his wife Debbie picked her up near the Trax station near them and then we met and had dinner. It was good food... and good fun.
Then she and I went back to my place to settle in for the night.
Unfortunately I as tired from working working working and went to bed around 11 on the futon in my computer room.
I always give my good bed to the guest :)

I woke up the next morning took puddi out for his business then made french toast with Great Harvest Cinnamon Burst Bread (thick cut) its the best and you don't need to even use syrup just a bit of butter and they are delicious.
Then we hung out, playing on computers and just chatting.

The Concert!
We jumped on the train to get to the Arena and go see Transiberian Orchestra in Concert. The concert started at 4 and got over at almost 7. I had not really listened much to TSO before so was not sure what to expect and was I surprised!
It was a very good concert it was just hard for me to cheer for any particular song because I didn't know any of them. But what amazed me was the perfect blonde quadruplets they had on stage for backup singers, and all the hair flipping rock stuff.. it was a good time and was fun to see Juanita enjoy herself.

After wards we went to Joy Luck cafe for some delicious Asian food. I had lettuce wraps and wonton soup, and Juanita had Pad Thai Noodles. then we went home and crashed after a stop off at Target for some needed supplies and I introduced her to Starbucks with a Hot Cider and I had a Chai egg nog latte.

Again I was really tired and so I went to sleep around 11 not sure what Juanita did but I know i fell right asleep.

Thanksgiving Day:
Woke up, Dog duty, quick breakfast of croissants egg sandwiches and yogurt.
goofed off watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving while Juanita pulled out everyone of my christmas decorations and put them out. I am not Festive more so than I have ever been. We then headed up to my Niece Jamie's house for a good meal of Ham, deviled eggs, mini wieneres in BBQ sauce, Buffalo wings, salad, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, shrimp and olives! I was stuffed when I left and had a take home package of my favorites for later.
Took Juanita to her house and dropped her off, I am hoping she is more brave for more adventures in the future!

Since thanksgiving...
Got all my Christmas gifts, Paid Property Tax and just worked... what and exciting life I live!

Thanks for coming down Juanita and spending a few days with me!

Work work work and did I mention work?

Well that night of Star Wars in Concert was great.. at least for me I enjoyed every minute of it just wish I had gotten to choose my seats... not sure I like how Ticket master online does tickets.

I prefer to sit on the balcony left for orchestra so I can watch the percussion not that front row floor seats are not great they just make it hard to see the percussionists.

Any way the concert was amazing... Jax liked it I think.. he was a bit annoyed by the loud sounds affects such as Fire shooting from the front of the stage and the Steamed air bursts.. and the Smoke irritated his eyes. He is definitely not a front row concert person.. I am sad that he didn't have as much fun as I had hoped he would have.

I do know he enjoyed the train ride there :)

Since then all I have done is work it seems each Saturday I log in from home for at least 4 hours. UG!!!

Next week i am excited as my Sister Juanita is coming down Tuesday Night so that Wednesday afternoon we can go to the Transiberian Christmas Concert downtown!

http://www.trans-siberian.com for more information:

She is willing to do Thanksgiving with me which is pretty funny since my Thanksgiving is normally through the kindness of others lol.

Maybe we can do a Charlie Brown Thanskgiving Dinner!:

Updates??? what is an update?

Well as I was reading through my email from dad I saw this and i quote, "Angel you haven't written anything in your blog since you took your vacation. How about bringing it up to date"

So let me do it as briefly as possible.

Labor day weekend... Went to see Cambria get baptized and confirmed, while there I fell in love with Serendipity CORN that Paul's parents grow. I must have had 4 cobs while there maybe 5 and then the packed me a to go bag of Cooked corn for the drive to St. George. YUMMY!

I drove to SLC picked up my dog Puddi and some food and stuff for him along with the tablet PC I got working for my Mom and headed down for a quick weekend trip. It was fun we all had a good time and mom got to play on her tablet pc, I hooked it up with her geneology stuff and some games she could play when she was stuck in bed. I also took them down a Tv I didn't use anymore for the bedroom. Puddi and Eti had a good time and I think Dad and mom did too :)

Puddi still wants to go home the minute we get there but he was less anxious and he didn't get

Movies worth seeing:
Since my last blog post...

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.... I took my friend Tom Davis and his family and Jamie and her boys to this, we all had a laugh here and there and the kids liked the idea of snow being Ice Cream.

Next up to see in theaters if I feel the need:
the Gamer ( already out)
Fame (already out)
Vampire's assistant out on the 23rd of October
Christmas Carol in 3D (nov)

Out on DVD this month:
Transformer 2
Battle Star Galatica "the plan"
Ice Age 3

What I have been up to? Getting sick good last weekend and still feeling odd here and there...

UTI which i am finally getting looked at... yea I put it off.

A cavity fell out a while back and I am considering seeing a dentist within the month... or so HAHA I hate Dentists... nothing against them per say just very much hate the drill and the smell.

This week I am taking Jax to the Star Wars in Concert at the Energy Solutions arena, I wanted to go and thought to myself who would really enjoy this... and the first name that came out was Jax.. now I am not sure how he will feel about it but its orchestral performance of all the Star Wars music which is some of the most well known scores out there. I have not been to a symphony concert since returning to SLC and maybe now if possible I can pick an event here and there and get someone to go with me.

Star Wars in Concert

I hopefully will remember to write about the Star Wars in Concert afterwards and maybe get Jax's feelings about it too :)

If the weather is good and i feel up to it.. I may see about taking trevan and Leslie's kids to see the Christmas Carol in 3D maybe they can talk juanita into coming down too since for 3D they probably will have to come to SLC at the commons.

lazy days of summer!

I haven't had a week off in over 5 years I think.. the last time I did it I moved from my apartment on 64 near fashion place mall to my home this condo.

I have been so lazy this week its not even funny... i have done some laundry, dishes and cleaned my guest bathroom, vaccumed, exercised abit each day and did karate...

I have been taking lessons from Puddi he knows how to releax... right now he is laying on his back on the futon just sleeping blissfully, he is a good one to learn from he holds no grudges although i think he does get pissed at me when i make him wear his halty or don't let him have the last bight of PB and J.

Other than just doing some cleaning i am trying to keep from spending money and that is hard in itself since I like my toys... however the summer Birthday schedule is coming to and end and I need to save up for the holidays...

other than that I am enjoying our early fall weather :)

Trevan and our Weekend... or Puddi gets gas

So I had Trevan for 3 days this last weekend it was his and my time together.
We have not had a chance to do just a Trevan and Angel weekend yet and this was a great time to do it.

He came over Early Friday morning still in his pajamas, so we got dressed and headed out to the dog park to let Puddi run around and have a bit of fun.

After which Trevan and I went to IHOP for some breakfast, I had the pancake platter and coffee and he had some french fries.

We then went home, he started to follow puddi everywhere and even laid on him just to make Puddi do is low voiced growl. Poor Puddi! Trevan laid down for a quick nap and when he woke up we went to Wheeler Farm to see the animals, We both liked the goats they were so loving and precious, the pigs were very disgusting and the horses were great! We got to pet all the animals including a well endowed Male sheep.

We took a wagon ride to see the entire farm area and then Trevan got to rid a pony!

He really was enjoying the day at the farm, we fed some ducks and geese and he wanted to keep the bunnies for his own lol.

He also had to try on the cowboy hats that they had for sale there.

We left the farm ready for some lunch so we stopped at McDonalds and had a hamburger, fries and some Drink.

We then headed over to the SLC Living Aquarium for fishy fun!
Here is a few of the pictures we took!
if you haven't gone there its a good deal and the yearly price is a steal!

We then went home and played with some toys and watched some cartoons till he fell asleep.

Day 2:
Puddi gets the farts... my poor dog is the best even when he is sick he just lets things fall as they may. I told Trevan we had to let puddi be today and not bother him because he was not feeling good. Trevan was pretty good about it too.
We took puddi outside around the condo area for a walk and then Trevan and I went to Johanna's Kitchen for some Eggs and Toast.
He sat back at the Counter with me and got to see all the goings on of a Diner.
We then went home and waited to hear from Leslie regarding swimming or movie... she called and said movie at the Walker Cinemas in Perry Utah. So we goofed off till it was time to go.

Trevan and I gathered up the gifts we got for the other kids and headed up. We went to see Ice Age 3 and it was going good till I got a bit of a gastro-intenstinal issue where I had to get up and go to the bathroom 4 times during the movie, and once time I just took Gunner out in the lobby so he could run around and have some fun.

Finally the movie was over and I gave out the gifts then headed back home hoping to make it there with no pit stops. I did :) trevan got a bit anxious around Ogden asking for his mom and wanting to go home and I talked him out of it. We got home and watched Spiderman cartoons and Avatar till bed time.

Sunday we woke up took puddi for a short walk and then had some cereal. We also walked over to the swing set to swing while puddi sat in the sun and had fun. Trevan was a bit sqeamish of the slide because it was damp at the bottom from the morning watering but worked on figuring out how to swing. I would show him and he would try and at one point he almost had it.

We took puddi for a ride and then headed home. We did laundry cleaning all of Trevan's clothes he had worn so they would be clean, we got Jax's present ready and I started gathering up some of the things I had for Jamie around my place.

When his mom finally got there Trevan was very happy to see her. They grabbed all the stuff and headed home.

Thanks for a fun Weekend Trevan!

Under the Kitchen Sink....

Well as some of you know this week my Garbage disposal after i don't know how many years of suffering in its sickly way decided to commit Disposal Suicide, it broke its neck and plummeted to the the stack of Paper towels I had stored under the sink...

I found this out oddly not by the sound of its suicidal fall but from the fact that when I went to dump Puddi's day old water down the sink and hear a splashing sound.

Alas it was suffering and it needed to be at peace...

Well Saturday I started to clean out the stuff under the sink.

Sunday I took out my tools and began the process of disconnecting any life support it may have had... the first thing I noticed was when i removed the dishwasher connection the rubber hose broke off due to the amount of corrossion in the fitting area... was the plug still there?

Then when I disconnected the power cord and the Drain pipe and pulled it out what a wonderous smell I discovered.. and upon looking into the now silent mouth I saw more corrosive goo all over and quickly deposited in a Cardboard box to take to Home depot to get its replacement.

My younger brother Joe came over as I was heading to HD for the garbage disposal to help install the new one.

When I got home and he got under the sink, this is basically the jist of the conversation we had:
[Angel]can we get rid of the non-functioning filtered tap that is just sitting there doing absolutely nothing? [Joe] sure
[Angel] what do you think should we replace the faucet now while we can get to it easy?
[Joe] yea that would make sense to do it now, let me disconnect the old one and you can take to to make sure the connectors match up.

So We pulled out the junk and I jumped in my Car for a second trip to Home Depot

Come back home to find Joe using the Plumbers tape to get ready to hook up the new faucet and plumbers puddy to seal the new sink insert for the Garbage disposal.
I had removed the Original connection to the sink so I had to explain the way it all hooked up again and told him I had found it on the internet and asked if he wanted to watch it.. He of course declined. He had also already wired the plug onto the new unit as well.

So he got under the sink and we set up my new faucet with the spray extension which I really like :)

then when we were getting ready to put the Garbage Disposal on I noticed the drain pipe from the new one was half the length of the original one and said that is not going to fit, he said it should be ok till he got under and then said nope you are going to need to see if they have a longer one or get an extension.

So off again in my car to Home depot for trip #3....

Now Joe and I have done many things as well as my Friend Tyler and Tom to fix up my condo... and it seems that through out this process I can never replace one thing or a section of things without 3 trips to Home Depot... whether its a toilet poorly setup requiring a new ring for the floor mount or 3 wax circles due to the bad floor mounts or a new connection for the leaky sink connectors in the guest bathroom its always a 3 trip home fix up!

Well finally it was all connected and we turned the water on to find a quiet disposal and a nice new faucet to make the kitchen just a bit better.

Next on the List of Fix up for the Kitchen:
Stove replacement
Trash Compactor removal/replace??? not sure yet
Dishwasher replacement.

The air conditioner condensor needs to be replaced and someone to check the vent leading to the 2nd room where no COOL air ever really gets.

incase you want to see how to replace a Garbage Disposal here is the handy dandy site I watched!

Saturday or the Day Puddi decided to go home

Well after a long night of little sleep, I got up with Puddi early Saturday to go to the Dog park with Dad and Eti.
I drove over to dad's with chuck so he could go for a run, Dad and I spent a good hour at the park.

We drove back to their trailer and relaxed while waiting for Chuck to head back to the hotel, shower and grab Debbie and Juanita so we could all go to breakfast.

Headed over to Ihop after they got there, Puddi and Eti left alone at mom and dad's with some treats to keep them busy.

I always make sure to get some bacon for puddi with my breakfast so he can have a nice breakfast too. After breakfast we went back to mom and dads and just relaxed for abit. I took Juanita for a bit to the Mall near their house to get help for her G1 phone. On the way back I saw a Pollo Loco and called dad to see if everyone would be ok with chicken for lunch. So I brought back sodas and Chicken.

I ate on the deck wiht the dogs giving both Eti and Puddi some good old Chicken and a couple chicken bones.

After Lunch we kids headed back to the hotel so mom and dad could rest, and just hung out having fun, Debbie and Chuck went to the pool to get some tanning and relax while I laid on the bed and played with Puddi in the room.

We decided to go to Mongolian BB1 for dinner and so I put puddi in his crate in the hotel hoping it would make him feel a bit better at being left behind. I also left him a good treat :)

Dinner was delicious and on the way back to the hotel we all stopped at various places for a soda.

Back at the hotel we tried to watch Transformers II but it was obvious to me that it was too confusing for mom and dad, besides Mom was tired and I knew she needed to lay down for some rest. We decided to watch some Star Wars specials after they left "family guy" and "Robot Chicken episode II" About the time we started to get a bit sleepy the fire works started outside.

So I took puddi out so he could see what was going on, of course he loves fireworks he lives with a drummer.

Went in after a good fireworks show from two locations and fell asleep.

Sunday morning same old thing up to park with Eti, but before I left I packed up all my stuff and put it in the car. I then headed over to mom and dad's with Puddi so he could hang in peace while I ate. Then we all met at ihop for breakfast and enjoyed each other's company. We went back to mom and dad's and after a bit Puddi was going to the door ready to head home and so I left.

I had a great time even if it was hot and enjoyed hanging with mom and dad and chuck and Debbie and Juanita My Technically challenged Family!

4th of July weekend... or Puddi's terrible trip day 1!

Chuck and Debbie decided it would be fun for us all to go down to St. George on the 4th of July weekend... Juanita was coming and so I said yep sounds fun.
And well it did for the most part except the thought HOTTER than HELL kept going through my head lol.

I packed up early Friday morning and started grabbing Puddi's things he was a bit anxious so I took him to the dog park for about a half hour, then we stopped and got gas, checked my Oil and grabbed our favorite breakfast Bagles. Hopped in the car and headed out.

This trip was different in that Chuck and Debbi and Juanita all drove down together and kept calling me about the stops and the journey! for me its about getting there and fast lol.

I stopped 2 times once in Filmore I think to see them eating frozen yogurt or something in a cone and puddi got to walk around with chuck for a bit, (his alpha male!) then I jumped back on the road and proceeded to head on down the road, they called me from Beaver and I said I wouldn't be stopping there but at a rest stop just north of the TA Truck stop where a dog run was for puddi.

I did stop at the rest stop and Puddi ran about for a bit and did his thing and then I loaded up and headed out again, behind me I though I had seen Chuck's car and I was right however as they existed the truck stop they got a flat and I didn't which I thank god for since having puddi in the car would have made changing the flat a bit tricky since he normally rides on top of the donut and tools in the back. His barrier that keeps him back there is a b..tch to get out as well.

They changed the tire and then headed on to Cedar city to get it repaired I told them have fun with their journey and I would see them at Mom and Dad's.

I got to Mom and Dad's and puddi and eti had a blast, they are good together and I know dad and I enjoy their crazy antics. Dad needed to take mom to her hair appointment so I climbed in the van with puddi and after dropping mom off we all went to the new dog park in St. George area.
I have been there many times but still keep forgetting to pay attention so I know how to drive there myself lol.

the heat was hot and all but not bad there, however they have a hose to water the dogs and I gave puddi a good spray so he could stay cool.

I tried to so some karate in the shade and went for an extended Iron horse stance and again pulled my hamstring abit. OWWWW!

after hanging for an hour and yes puddi dried off in that time we grabbed mom and headed back to the Trailer. Finally Chuck and Debbi and Juanita got there and We decided puddi would stay at Mom and Dad's trailer with Mom and Dad, Eti and Juanita while I went with Chuck and Debbie to the hotel to drop off all the stuff and check in. I paid for Puddi and an Extra Cot so that we would be comfortable and all.

It was decided that Chuck and Debbi and I would meet Mom and Dad and Juanita at Chuck O Rama's for Dinner after we were all settled in. Mind you it didn't take long for me to get out all the electronics I have and started to hook up my Western Digital HD Media Player to the TV. (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?DriveID=572)

This is where the story gets insanely funny... well at least for me since I was there...
This electronic device acts as a conduit to a TV so I can access Movies (.iso) and other shows (avi, divx, wma etc) Photos, and MP3's from an external Hard drive thus NO CD/DVD to carry around just the Media Player and a few cables and My Hard drive. I love it as I use it at home in the living room to watch any TV show I like with no Commercials at all!

Well upon hooking it all up I realized I had forgotten the remote control and there is no way to control it without a remote. Well Debbie could see the Device on the TV since we had changed the TV to input and there it was the UI and all ready to use except no remote. Well she said it had to have a way to work without the remote and proceeded to touch the tv screen on the icons and then type on the hard drive and on the actual device, and since it didn't work for her Chuck felt if he did the exact same thing it would work for him! I was just laughing so hard because even though yes it would be nice that the device had the ability to change a regular CRT TV to a touch screen device alas it didn't have that technology. Oh my gosh we decided then that yes I was a member of Technology Illiterate Family who loved the technology I brought to there lives but had no idea what to do with it most the time.

Any way I decided to go to Best Buy site to see if they had the WD Media Player and they did so I dropped by after dinner with juanita on the way back to the Hotel and grabbed one and bought it to return after the trip was over, just so I could use the remote control!

Mom and Dad then hung out at the hotel which was a bit humid with so many peeps after going to their house to grab puddi with Debbi and Chuck. Puddi was upset at me and yes I needed to give him all my attention in the hotel that night, he never left my side ever!

Seems I didn't have a good choice of Movies on the hard drive this time since they were things I enjoyed but Mom and Dad didn't find any of the titles good we tried a bit of Last Chance Harvey but the sound on the tv was horrible or the Rip of the ISO and it was hard to follow. We then tried InkHeart which wasn't too bad for me. During this time however Puddi started to Fart, because he had a sour stomach and was so upset about being left at Mom and Dad's while I went to the hotel. And they were so potent made your eyes water a bit. Very very sad night for puddi... I felt bad for him. Mom and Dad finally left for home (around 9 pm) and we didn't finish the movie because really it was very hard to hear. After mom and dad left We all got ready for sleep and watched "So you think you can Dance" that I had downloaded prior to heading to St. George. They were all amazed at the picture and the fact there was 0 Commercials lol.

I slept on a sliver of the cot with Puddi and Chuck and Debbi in the bed next to my cot and juanita on the bed closest to the Bathroom I slept horribly since Puddi was taking all the cot and all the blankets but we all survived our first day of the weekend. Thinking back on it I probably should have slept at Mom and Dad's since puddi might have been a bit more relaxed since he is familiar with the floor and my Blow up mattress I keep there for Christmas. But it was so funny in the hotel that I would have missed that part of the JOURNEY!

Robots and SITH

Well it has been sometime since I was blogging here and so I at this time offer this:

Transformers II Revenge of the Fallen
Good movie, Fun, funny, exciting and yes over the top. But hey isn't it supposed to be that way?
They continue the fun with the mom eating some Marijuna Brownies and running around campus embarrassing her son yet again. BumbleBee over the top destruction to take out a few household appliances gone bad and a sexy co-ed who is not all she appears to be...

here is the trailer:

Now the other thing that has me just excited is a new MMO which is based on the Old republic games and graphic novels. Mind you I feel that Bio Ware should do the next Star wars movie etc because this Game Trailer is the BOMB!

Enjoy:

Weekend come and gone with no chores done HAHA!

This weekend, I asked Leslie if the kids could come down again, I wanted to take them to see Wheeler farm since they had not gone with me there before.
I took my other great nephew, Jax there many times and he enjoyed seeing the animals and riding the wagon ride. So I figure Braxton and Cambria would too but what was amazing was that Gunner loved it, I think the most!

Any way they got down here, we had lunch at the training table and then headed over to Wheeler Farm. I enjoy just watching the kids as they have all the joy in new places. Gunner found a ball in the Lost and Found which he carried all over the Farm and finally into my car.

We got back to my place after the fun at the farm I had a few Ice cream cones in the freezer for the kids and they went back home.

I am looking forward to this next weekend as its Jax and Trevans weekend :) I am heading up to Trevan's party for his birthday and then I asked them if they wanted to have a sleep over at my place which I believe they both said yes to :) I am not sure where I will take them but it will be something fun for them I hope. I will have to see what Trevan Thinks since it is his birthday weekend :)

I really enjoy taking all the kids places I guess its how get the best of both worlds, I get to give joy to the kids and then give them back :) HAHA.

Great deal on Refurbished laptop on WOOT!

Just letting you know about a good deal for a nice little laptop :

http://www.woot.com/

this is the intel version of the laptop and has a dedicated 512 ram to the Video Card which is a bit better than my one with shared ram... as that doesn't always work as nicely for online games.

thought today?
Thank God Tomorrow is Friday :)

got a 4 day weekend coming and I plan to do somethings around the condo one day and the rest maybe just relax and take in some nature!

Week of nothing to do but keep my head down and stay the course!

Well work is getting more and more sad, empty desks all around me...

I miss having my good friend Tyler here to hang with and practise karate at lunch with.. Dam the economy but hell i can only blame myself as I am one of those who used credit like there was no tomorrow.
But I am not using it any more :)

Movie to look for this week? TERMINATOR SALVATION!:

I am not a big fan of the Terminator series but I do like the TV show the Sarah Connors chronicles because the actress playing sara connor is kick ass in shape and can kick man butt!

I also love Terminator 2 because Linda Hamilton Was RIPPED!
I am telling you I love seeing the human body in its most amazing forms, the muscles and how they connect and interact is amazing. guess that is why I love training and body building.
Here is a good shot of Linda Hamilton:

Now for the Movie it does have Christian Bale who is always a nice eye treat but he also
is believable... takes on the role like a coat similar to Mel Gibson.

Also it has Terminator Motorcycles how cool is that ;)

Well got to go :)

Enjoy the Trailer :

My Eyes and STAR TREK!!!!

First thing yesterday I had an eye appointment at Hoopes Vision, its close by and because I have had lasik I kind of want people who know lasik checking my eyes.
lately I have had Headaches and blurry vision at a distance when its like in a theater, like KA at the MGM and a bit in Wicked.
So to be sure I had them checked, well the appointment started at 8:15 am and I got out at 10:30 AM.
they did every scan and test I think you can do to an eye... and most the time when they were saying do you like 1 or 2, 3 or 4 my eyes were blinking just to focus in seems I never hit 20/20 because my eyes are so dry.
They are only 20/25 atm and its my reading that took the biggest hit but it is still ok if its a lighted area. They suggest when I do get them fixed as to do Monovision, where one eye (my left) is set to distance and the non-dominant eye (my right) is set to near vision thus making one eye do primarily all the work with distance viewing and one to do the close up.
If you want to read more on this check this site:
Monovision
They dialated my eyes and so I had to go home with 3 sunglasses on so I could see enough to drive the sun was so blinding! I couldn't work on the computer so just called in to work and said I was not coming in so I laid back down and slept a bit more and then got up and cleaned a bit..

the best part of today
10 PM IMAX theater STAR TREK MOVIE!
Ok First JJ Abrams!!! and Yes he did a great movie in making STAR TREK!
Great cast selection
A progression which leads up to a very satisfying ending... or could it be the beginning... who knows I just know I will be getting this movie on DVD/BlueRay as soon as possible and will hopefully be able to head to St. George to get my mom to see it :)
For your enjoyment the Trailer:

Black Tuesday

Well yesterday turned out to be more Grey and even black than it was outside...
Symantec in their wisdom had deep and cutting Lay offs yesterday,
The Team i am on was decimated. My good bud Tyler Keith was one of them who was laid off...

I am not sure the wisdom in this process but as far as I can see it was done by someone with a list of names and a Dart in their hand.

People who were kept were as random as those let go...

Not really sure why we need two Test Managers for this team but we have them and we lost a great tester in the process.

Sorry not in a great mood.. I do have a job but not in the mood to do much about it.

Grey Sprinkle days

Not much to say at this time other than the weather is grey and when I woke up my allergies were a bit on the strong side.

Last night I just really hung out with Puddi on the couch, goofing on the computer and watching House.

Work today going to be finishing up my Vmware Setup and start to consider how to be more efficient with gathering files needed for our build and get my script ready to go :)

Xmen Origins: Wolverine.. Good movie if never read a comic

Ok so I saw this movie Midnight on Thursday,

It starts ok... and it stays along the premise that Striker gave Wolverine his claws...

This movie introduces the Team X

Deadpool (Wade) Excerpt from Wiki page: "Nicknamed the "Merc with a Mouth", Deadpool is a high-tech mercenary known for his wisecracks, black comedy, and satirical pop-culture references. Like the X-Men's Wolverine, Deadpool is the product of the Canadian government's paramilitary Weapon X program, although his place of birth is unknown. After Weapon X cured his terminal cancer by implementing a regenerative "healing factor" extracted from Wolverine, Deadpool is left disfigured and mentally unstable."

John Wraith/Krestel Phasing Can phase in and out

Wolverine

Sabertooth/Vykter

Agent Zero God with a gun

Silver Fox? Not really there however kayla is somehow a reference to her

Blob BIG FAT MAN with tremendous power and industructable in many ways (not part of Weapon X ever)

If you have never read a single XMen comic this movie is entertaining and full of great fight scenes and a lot of sly quips.

What is doesn't do right is too long to list all but the only thing that really matters is they messed up my favorite GAMBIT!

Gambit (Remy Etienne LeBeau)Taken from WIKI:
"As a mutant, Gambit possesses the ability to manipulate kinetic energy, as well as a hypnotic charm. He is also skilled in card throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a staff.

Originally a professional thief, few X-Men trusted Gambit when he first joined the group, a source of stress between him and his longtime on-again, off-again love interest Rogue. This was exacerbated when his connections to villain Mister Sinister were revealed, although some of his team members accept that Gambit honestly seeks redemption.

As the X-Men's self-described ladies man, Gambit has shown a more vulnerable side of himself over the years, especially when it comes to Rogue. Gambit remains fiercely proud of his Louisiana heritage, and speaks in a very thick, Creole accent."

Now the guy in the movie starts with some Accent unknown to me and looses it along the way, they also make him a gambler... They just miss the mark completely.

However again if you never never knew any of this the movie is very entertaining...

I give it a B- for at least a good Super Hero movie somewhat based on the XMEN comics and Marvel Characters.

WICKED ROCKED!

Well I can only say that the touring company was amazing the Glinda was perfect really spot on.. and Elphaba was very very good.
My friend Kenny Hodges was playing the percussion book and did an amazing job as well, got to go back stage after the show to see his set up and check out all the wonderful noise makers he used the triang thing is just amazing to see and hear.

If I had one issue and mind you its trivial its that I was Way to high up LOL.. and the Voices came through loud and clear but the music itself was very low and I had to strain to hear it sometimes.

The production is wonderful and really if you have a chance to see it you should.

One more number from Wicked Defying Gravity for you to enjoy:

WICKED tonight at Capital Theater!

I would say that I am so excited for the show tonight... I wish Only that I had had more money at the time the tickets became available but it was at the end of a paycheck so I am sitting way up high and not in my normal place :)

However with that being said I recall this show from NYC when I was lucky to see it on broadway with its original cast on a Work related trip.

I wish only someday to play this book as a percussionist but alas... I have not been in those circles since moving back to Utah... but If I set my mind to it perhaps it will come to pass ;)

Here for you to enjoy is Popular with the orignal Bway Cast:

MAY M AY MAY!!!!

Ok first for a month now the movies which have been offered via Hollywood have just sucked.. APRIL nothing came out worth seeing that I am aware of...

Now with MAY Fast Approaching I suggest you get excited for a month of Block Buster movies which hopefully live up to the hype!

First
MAY 1 Xmen Origins: Wolverine or as I like to call it the First EVER MOVIE WITH GAMBIT!

I have midnight show tickets for Thursday night and even though Diana is seeing in the same theater as Hugh Jackman I can safely say I am just as excited. Although a wee bit Envious of her :)

May 1: Battle for Terra (CGI) movie about saving mankind I believe, not really checked it out but looks ok for kids

May 1: Ghosts of Girlfriends Past: not sure what to say but is a romantic comedy based on the Dickens ghosts of christmas past I believe. I like Jennifer Gardner and can stomach Matthew McConaughey so could be good for a laugh if you can't get into XMEN!

May 8: Star Trek (by JJAbrams)

This looks intensely sweet! I have tickets for the 7th at 10 PM and am very excited as I always liked the Star Trek Franchise except Star Trek V and well really Star Trek the movie.. which had many of us baffled that the cast was so cold.

May 18: Angels and Demons: Sequel to the Movie The Da'Vinci Code
Tom Hanks back as the lead and another Catholic cover up to solve...

May 21: Terminator: Salvation

Now I am not a super Terminator fan but again this has all the components of a good one. First Christian Bale as John Connor and a great deal of action is promised.

May 21: Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
Sequel to the Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller again.. I am getting a bit bored of his stuff but again if you cant get in to see Terminator it could be a good popcorn show

May 29: Up

Pixar's latest offering, hopefully some updates to the CGI they have in the past continued to improve on, this is definately the movie this month for the kids.

Well there you have it my Movie picks for MAY!

Karate Test tonight... going for Brownbelt

Well I have set the day for my test and it starts tonight...

I have my friend Tyler coming with me to act as fodder, he and I had progressed to Green Belt under the last reincarnation of Kishindo.

I am testing for my Brown... and then I will only be 2 tests from Black.

I have so much to learn and need to push hard to learn it.

Other news? nothing except I got my tax money in and paid off a big bill I had and put some away for savings.. all in all a good week so far :)

Oops making a correction I am testing for Brown 1 stripe, one more test to brown, then black... hopefully I will not take as long to the next belt..

Pasts and memories

Last night the University of Percussion Ensemble had a 30 year anniversary concert, celebrating Doug Wolf's 30 years there teaching.

Many of the Evening proceedings focused on the ensemble throughout his career which I was a student in one form or another of his for almost a decade of them.

Video Courtesy of KSL.com

The music was excellent, and the post event party was fun... got to hook up with some old friends.. and yes I am a terrible friend as I don't really keep up with them..

A few in attendance were:
Mary Murdock
Margo Watts (don't know married name)
Ardean Watts
Pat Campbell
Dan Chamberland and his wife Gloria
Larry Edvalson
Kelly Wallis (with no long hair)
Kenny Hodges
George Brown
Jay Lawrence
Brian Booth (who knows me as Poot from my year there in 79)
Dan Lewis
Darren Dabell (nasty)
Garna Chew (aka Alex Brothers)
JD
Jill Elliot and Hubby and kids
Bonnie Gwilliam and her kids
Miranda
Glen Rose
Heath Wolf
Chase Culp
Kent Seegmiller (siggy)
and more who I apologize if I don't remember their names.

One of the highlights were a few videos they played between muscial numbers of television news clips regarding the ensemble and its various events yes the one from 87 was most embarassing!

one Video was from Performances at the various venues:
St. Louis, Ending of West Side Story
Chicago Diabolic Variations
LA Diabolic Variations
Crystal Cathedral Stained Glass

A couple of the peices they played last night caught my ear and my interest:

Stubernic
Which you can see here:

well its not the same as the player last night but gives you an idea of how fun this piece is.

My Piano HERO!

Juanita entered an online piano contest I am so freaking proud of her :)

Vegas... sore feet and no coins!

ok so now that you know about the Show we saw... here is an account of the rest of the time as far as I can remember it.

Monday, got there, had to wait for machine to get in my room where i was presenting and so i just took it myself, got my machines going and then went to meet diana.
We ate at Diegos, as she said she could eat mexican anytime and I got a 15% off with the conference there. After a filling meal we went to the casino and did some nickel slots and penny slots in hope of getting 1500 points so we could get two free tickets to KA... HAHA lol we earned 32 pts and then I just kind of said that will have to do.. we will have to do the 2 for 1 deal which she agreed was less expensive :)
We then walked over to the NYNY Casino and rode the roller coaster which was just a great ride.. I got to yell and Diana got squished :)

tuesday morning had to get up and go to Keynote... on my way there I picked up our KA tickets. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and meat and coffee... then the keynote and yes I was dozing in it. After the keynote I made my way back to the room. Mind you it was exactly 1 mile between my room and the conference area and i averaged 3 trips a day at the least. My feet had some old blisters from taking the dog for a long walk and I irrated them more by wearing sandles on the first 3 trips to the conference center on Monday. With that being said my feet were hating me... Diana also had turned off the tv during the night which made for me a bad sleep... lol I have to have noise and it was way to quiet. any way after a 3 hour nap I walked down to the food court with diana where we grabbed a slice of pizza and then I grabbed my badge and headed to a presentation that my boss wanted me to sit in on.

After that i walked back to the room where diana was dressed and had gone to walmart to obtain some allergy meds, bandaids and peanuts :) then we went down to the food area for some delicious Chinese. I mean it was really well made and Diana was thoroughly pleased with her Singapore Noodles and I loved my wonton soup and Spring rolls again 15% discount :).

afterwards we walked towards the KA theater and got there ready to relax and have a good time.. Diana had her night driving glasses and they really help to clear up the distance so I may have to see about getting my eyes checked as I was not seeing clear images and there were some sexy chests to see!!!!.

After the show she got some post cards and I got a shot glass then back to the floor where I tried my luck at 25 cent slots and didn't do to bad being up 4.40 right away.
Now for those that love Vegas and the sound of money dropping as people win well just forget the glory days of gambling to that sound as all the casinos are going computerized where you get TOKENS for your winnings... UGH so I lost my nights gambling amount as well.

Next day was my presentation... i had to go to the entire day as I was dressed in my Symantec gear and had to be seen. I sat in the keynote with my boss till we were bored we left to go check email and stuff back at work. After that I sat in a second session dealing with the same subject of Workflow and then snuck in the room for my presentation and starteed up my vmware machines during the lunch break. I then sat in the room listening to some information on the new Vpros from intel, just to make sure they didn't mess with my set up lol!
my presentation went good had a good crowd and it seemed that many were impressed by the results of the product in the new platform. who knows though... i could be wrong :)

After the presentation My boss had his so I sat in the back and listened to his.. afterwhich I left the conference never to see it again!

that night Diana and I decided to go to GERMAN food and the resturant the Hofbräuhaus after she found out that the Knight show at the Excalibur had horses LOL!
Her girlfriend said it was .8 miles away. she offered to drive and I said no no lets walk its not that far... HAHA any way for those who don't know that the girlfriend is TJ's GPS system and loves him she and I now have proof that it is really trying to kill all women in his life so she can have him to herself, as the thing has us go through the longest route and on a road next to the airport and homeless people's shanties. As we walked I kept looking over to where we had come from and noticed that there was probably a less desolate path to take lol.
Any way we got there safe and sound and were entertained by a oompa band and had Hofbräu Hefe Weizen which was very very good stuff, I had Cold Bavarian Cucumber Salad, and Majoram - Veal Bratwurst - Two delicately seasoned Veal Sausages grilled to perfection. Served with our famous Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas Red Cabbage and mashed potatoes - VERY VERY DELICIOUS!
Diana I talked into have Schnitzel (the size and shape of a baby elephant ear)Schnitzel Wiener Art - Classic Breaded Pork Cutlet served crisp and Golden Brown, so large that you might not find your plate. With Cranberries and homemade Bavarian Potato Salad.
We were enteretained by girls paddleing old men's butts and a good oompa band. Of course we were deaf and had to yell to communicate but it was really a fun time.

Well we actually were thinking of taking a cab back to the MGM but again I said its only .8 miles we can walk and we both needed it after that large meal, well we headed back down the road we had seen from the walk there and were doing good until we took a left turn into a parking lot back access route where two cab drivers yelled at us that we were dumb for walking and should have took a cab LOL.

Once back at the casino with our feet tired and bellies full I tried once more to win. ROULETTE (slots) I won 11 dollars right away and got impatient and missed out on winning another 35 dollars.. oh well.. Vegas is not for the faint of heart I guess LOL.

We have both decided that the TV in the MGM Grand is HORRID nothing on it except chinese, japenese, korean and Spanish channels along with the most boring channels offered in English. She taught me how to work in the Widget factory in Yoville and I farmed and then we just laid around complaining about the tv LOL.

woke up the next morning packed up, and the I followed her to a Diner she had seen on Food Network, She had a scrambeled egg boli and i had eggs with bacon. She said hers was really good and in fact it did look very good. She found us Gas for 2.07 and as we left I told her thanks for coming up to vegas to hang with me although i am sure she had terrible sleep since she likes no noise at all..

Well lets see I do have one picture of her infront of the Statue of Liberty on our walk to NY NY but I can neither confirm nor deny its her!

NON STOP WORK

Ok getting ready for the presentation I have at Manage Fusion in Vegas and nothing but pain has been mine since starting to work on the demo VMwares I plan to use.
Suffice it to say I have worked all weekend and am not very happy about it.

Saturday yesterday had a nice break though Leslie and her kids and Juanita came down and we had a nice lunch at JCW's in Lehi and then visited the Dino Museum at Thanksgiving Point. I love Dinosaurs and so it was quite fun especially to see the kids look at the bones or displays.

I have some pictures on my phone but have not uploaded them yet. Will try to do so soon.

Any way. was had a very good time and the kids were excellent, behaved very well and all had fun. Even Gunner got into the museum pointing and touching all he could :)

CrockPot cooking and TV marathons

OK first, Diana has proven I am not bad influence on her, as by her posts...
I have introduced her to Mozerella Cheetos and yes THAI food!...

Ok so recently I have learned the ease of using a CROCKPOT.

I also have learned the wonderful use of Slow Cooker Liners By Reynolds!!!!
Reynolds Slow Cooker Liners

I use one of these in my crock pot before adding the food and clean up is seconds!

so here is my best attempt yet:
Flank Steak
Potatoes,
Onions
Garlic
Carrots (baby Carrots)
A bit of WorchesterShire Sauce (liberally applied)
RUDY's BBQ sauce!!!
Sea Salt
Fresh Ground Pepper

Now its easy to put together
First thaw the Flank Steak
Wash it
open it up on a Paper Plate Cut diagonal Cuts across the grain of meat on both sides (do it because my mom does it)
salt and pepper both sides
Chop up an onion not too big a chunks or to your liking
Chop up 5 cloves of Garlic (use powder)
Put the onions and the garlic on the bottom of the lined Crockpot and salt and pepper them
chop up the potatoes drop them in (salt and Pepper)
dump a bunch of the baby carrots in the pot next
NOW drizzle a bit of the WhorchesterShire sauce on the vegetables
lay the Flank steak on top of the veggies and pour enough BBQ sauce on to cover then flip and do it to the other side.

Now the tricky part LOL
turn on the crock pot to HIGH for 45 minutes
after that turn it down to low and let it cook for 8 hours.

YUMMY YUMMY!

now as to my life not much going on, preparing my presentation for the conference in Vegas next month, working on studying to get my HAM Technicican license and wondering where i will come up with a HAM RADIO :)

CHOW FOR NOW!

Snow, Spitz and Work WOO HOO

Snow this morning very flakey as it was coming down and of course my infamous dog loves to run around in it first :) Made eggs, and toast for breakfast very unusual for a work day but hey I wanted it and didn't want to buy it.

Got to work with a headache not sure where it came from but pretty sure its my stuffed nose. woke up all stuffed up.. not a cold though just annoying.

Sitting here at work i am constantly sucking on Spitz sunflower seeds, my pod neighbor Darren got me hooked on them I liked the seasoned and the smoky bbq flavors.

been playing a ton in one of the online games I like and have decided that I am in it more than my own life so time to take back some time for myself. will last a bit till I get the jonesing to get back in the game. lol

Dogs Love

Well I have a friend in Texas who had to put down her golden retriever yesterday night.
Her name was holly and she was a loving dog, i think she was 12 -14 years old which is a good long time for a dog. She was in pain and her medication could no longer help her.
It was a sad thing to hear about... and made me give my dog a good squeeze just for his tail to wag again. I think he knew something was wrong and so he stayed next to me for a bit after I heard the news.

On the other hand chocolate cures all ails right? and I have found DARK CHOCOLATE MINIS I favor the Mr Good bar version of these dark chocolate wonders more than the others and there is no way I can eat a Special Dark as it just doesn't even remotely taste of chocolate.

One more find which is not bad is the Cheetos Mozerella flavor not bad!

HAM Radio Class... and no i am not a GEEK!

Ok so Thursday and Friday night from 6- 10 I was at a Ham radio Class for the Technician License. Saturday morning from 9-11 as well.. Very interesting information and I guess good to know incase of emergencies :)

Well I have lik 6 computers and a ham radio is not high on my list of purchases for the coming months so don't see me getting on the air soon besides I need to take the test and pass it for my license.

Any way Sitting in this class I realize this is a completely differen breed of GEEK and they have their own secret lingo as well as geekish ways. They talk about towers and Contests on contacting as many other stations as possible and bouncing off the ionosphere to Japan like its normal stuff... So I say again I am not a geek!

Dog Xrays lookie lookie

Ok so Puddi has been getting up almost nightly lately to do a bit of throw up at 1 am so this week up came a small porous item as well so I get a bit worried.
Thus we went to the VET, now Puddi loves the vets not sure why but he does.
Maybe its because he loves people and of course people who offer liver treats.

We are there for a bit and he looks ok and acts ok but I found out he shouldn't eat the following:
Onions
Garlic
Grapes
High Fat rich meat

what have I fed him? Elk Roast, Pork Roast all cooked with Garlic Powder and Onions.
And early in his life I fed him grapes which he loved.

So The doctor suggests we do an xray to see if he possibly has an obstruction and so now I share these magnificent xrays with you!

And yes he is going to poop soon and did according to these xrays :)

He is doing better but bitter due to the lack of human food which he has come to love.

Dogs and Sleep

Well last night was a weird one..

My dog who i love dearly decided to get back at me i believe for playing on the computer all night and not paying any attention to him...

around midnight i went to bed as I do most nights, but before I took him out and let him pee around as I call it, this is his ritual of running from one point to another sniffing and if needs be peeing on that spot to confirm his dominance!

well I get tired of this normally around 10 minutes into it but last night it was freezing and I was ready to sleep...

Well around 2 I feel him move suddenly to an upright position and then run out of the room to the front door... I hurry out to see him there and I go no we are not going outside... we go lay back down he lays there for 2 minutes then up again.. so its not a joke I figure I get to the living room to hear his prepare to throw up sounds so I shoe him out to the deck where he does indeed throw up.. and normally he will go back to bed but no he stands in the living room looking at me so we go down to let him do more peeing around.. finally he poops a bit and we head back up.

So I get back to sleep after a bit of telling him he was a good boy for not peeing or throwing up on my bed :)

around 6 he starts to wake me up again for our morning ritual of a bit of workout and his peeing around again...

I guess i need to pay more attention to him today when I get home from work :)

Dogs and their love!

Last night I went to my Friend Tom's house to Practise Karate with him, drop off some videos for him and his family to watch why he is recooping from shoulder Surgery he is having today, and get my hair colored and trimmed by his wife.

They always feed me dinner and last night they made individual shepard pies which were really quite good.

They have a small pom named fox because is coat is looks just like a fox, well this little guy literally loves me he kisses me and plays with me and follows me around like a shadow when I am there. He was sitting on my lap when Sabrina started to cut my hair and and one point under the poncho thing he was trying to find my face to lick it. I laughed and so did sabrina we finally had to kick him out of the room so I could sit still for the cut.

When I got home my DOG the infamous one who is the most beautiful and smart of all dogs I have ever owned starts sniffing my face, my clothes and all for I have cheated on him! He pouted a bit when I jumped on my computer to play some games and when we changed my shirt to a fresh tshirt to avoid the itch of cut hair on my neck and back he started to sniff that shirt like it was an enemy in his home.

We went to bed around midnight and he literally slept so that his back was to mine to shoe me is disapproval of my having been with another dog!

I woke up with him lieing dead center top of the bed where my pillows lie. I guess he showed me :)

44th President of the US ! Barack Obama

As I was getting ready for work this morning I had the Inauguration Playing on my Television... at times I was literally moved by the Music of the Marine Band.

Really there is no other form of communication that feeds the heart of people as music does.

I listened to his oath you realize he is just a man and a nervous one at that...

I Love to see the Armed Forces out in the full dress uniforms the event is a great moment to reaffirm you patriotism.

Now back to things that are a part of my life..

Work I have been asked to do a presentation at Manage Fusion and I am now researching to get a working out line for it then to fill in the gaps. as i am truly opposed to Power Point presentations I am trying hard to just have a few slides with definate information which I will NOT READ to the audience.

Its in March in Las Vegas so I get to have a few days on the company there!

today I am just fighting a headache not sure where it came from but its just hanging there. Hopefully its gone soon so I can enjoy my day the best I can

My Civil Rights?

Well I am at work and yes its Martin Luther King Jr day and yes... I feel my Civil Rights are being stepped on by My job.. don't they know I want to sit at home and do nothing? Jeez.. oh well..

I must say I do respect and believe Martin Luther King Jr to be a great and noble man.. he had a dream and his dream is one many of us share...

Tomorrow is the Inauguration of a new President. As we turn the page on a new chapter of USA will any of us look back to learn from things in the last chapter I like to call BUSH II. I hope so but as in all things not many people will and thus we continue the cycle of repeats and do overs.

Friday night TV just got exciting again I mean really I was thrilled to turn on my TV and go to Sci Fi channel to Watch BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!!!! I am just sorry to see it coming to an end...

Now if any of you want to watch a well made show I would suggest Pushing Daisies. Unfortunately its in the second season and will not get renewed but it is without a doubt a wonderful show, an excellent cast and just a bunch of fun to watch.

Well I am really looking forward to this friday as well, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans or Return of the lycans or what ever it is is coming out :)

Yippy!

Oranges and Grapefruits

So there is this guy who sits in a cube kitty corner from me and he has recently started to eat Grapefruits..
I asked him this morning what was up with that and he said they are a natural source of Lipotrofic benefits ( fat burning )
So I told him ok and then we started talking about the difficutly of choosing a good orange or grapefruit as most the time I find ones that are half dried up inside or very bitter etc.

so his theory is the Florida vs California Fruit selection:
the fruit is like the people (please take no offense in this theory as it is far from proven)

California Oranges and Grapefruits are round and bright colored and beautiful, but inside they are questionable... their skins are glossy and thick but... you don't know what you are getting on the inside they could be dried up old hacks :)

Florida Oranges and Grapefruits are odd shaped, scarred, discolored, and think but inside are full of juice...

I thought it was pretty funny and thus I share it with you now other than that, same thing different day :)

Another day not much to say

Well lets see...

Back at work just finished the development teams test rack.. Its portable and allows it to be moved to a location where it needs to be...
What id doesn't come with is someone on the dev team that knows how to restore it to points that are useful so I forsee many questions coming my way as they decide how to set it up.

Now to get to work on my set up.

I currently only have 1 subnet and I need to arrange it so that I can 2 subnets. which means a bit of work on my setup now that I have the time before we start the next code sequences...

Last night talked to my sister Diana, she finally got the card I bought her for christmas which was quite funny since it was very late.

Not much going on tonight, I think I have practise with my friend Tom on Karate, but he has an injury so he can't do much with is shoulder till its repaired so its just me.

Oh well... FUN FUN FUN

Monday Morning?? again?

Well here it is Monday... not a very eventful weekend...

Did some cleaning, cooked a pork roast in my crockpot>>> YES i know that is two times this year I cooked... LOL must be that I found out how easy a crockpot is to work!

Also baked a cake that I had the mix for I don't know how long, of course I left it unfrosted just the way I like them and yes I didn't burn it, just a bit over cooked... recipe on box said 29 - 34 minutes so I opted for 31 minutes and think it was done best at 29.. oh well still takes chocolatey good!

went to the gun show Saturday to get some ammo and boy was it crowded.. had to wiggle around just to see what all was there.. and left after getting the ammo quickly so I didn't have to smell it any more LOL

so as you can see a very uneventful weekend.

Today finishing up the install for dev test rack and then start working on RC1 install on my test lab. Yippee!

The Traffic Bermuda Triangle of Utah

Ok so today I start to drive to work about 8:40 it normally takes me 30 minutes to get there give or take a few minutes depending on weather and all.. well
Today I walked into my desk at 10:15...

Why?? because From the point of the mountain south till Orem is the Bermuda triangle of Insane and non-stop traffic problems. Really more accidents occur in that area I fear than the rest of the world!

From the point till thanksgiving point going ok then suddenly everyone is slowing down and stopping why? a single car (crunched) sitting in the 3rd lane in no one in it and no police around it to let other cars know its there. How many fender benders did this cause? 2 i saw to pairs of cars pulled over to the side with backend and front ends matching the dents.

Then I see another couple cars paired along as we continue to crawl towards Lehi... then comes the fun, I move to the HOV lane since I figure the truckers moving there know more than I do. Well they did... there was at least 1-5 more cars all crunched in various lanes and on the should leading to the area right before the Lehi Flour Mills exit where there was 2 cars crunched then 2 Semis off in a ditch one's back end connected to the second semis front end then another 6 cars in varous states of Crunch. So I figure yea we are done with the accidents .... nope because right then in front of me (moved to the slow lane at this time) another couple of cars are crunched. after that I can go freeway speeds to american fork where suddenly the traffic stops again. I get of at the next exit and go the back roads to work.

Now that was an insane drive to work.

Right now still working on the test rack getting finalized then I have to post our new build and I think that is it for the days schedule.

chow for now!

Test Rack Mayhem

Ok so I get to work today and decide to build the DEV test rack I have been planning on doing for about 3 months...
so I get all the machines, switches cords and all hooked up

I start working on os's and the main server starts to try to delete things without me even clicking on it... like its possessed... well I just stick in the OS cd and format and start fresh...

Then I get working on updating machines and all and when I go to show how to do something to my boss suddenly no video feed is coming to the monitor.. so I undo all the cords and hook up a new kvm switch then still nothing so finally i unplug the monitor and plug it back in and wala! it works... Musen fraten bricken braken monitor!

So now I am back to making sure all themachine are updated and the os gets complete so I can install products tomorrow.
Yea me...
Catch on the flip side

Back to work and back on schedule

Well the end of 2008 was uneventful... no work just laying around at home playing with my dog and goofing online in online games I play!

Today I get up with the alarm and my dog looks at me, had to tell him today was back to work day... no laying in bed till 8 or so.. lol

Asked if I made any resolutions this year by a co-worker...
Got to say no to that... just going to try go do things that make sense and possibly stay out of trouble :)

Well back to the grind got to get our product installed to see if there are any huge issues to fix!
